Great value for money, my go-to takeaway when in Kingsbridge
AVOID THIS ONE LIKE THE PLAGUE.I wish I had read the previous reviews; "Arrogant, late, rude"...now I can add untrustworthy. Seriously, I don't do bad reviews this is my first ever, I have never felt the need but if I prevent one other person using this Non Delivery service I would have done a good deed.Long story as it's truthful I can remember every detail so hanker down with a cuppa and hopefully this will help make your take away decision remember YOU do have a choice.Ordered online at 17.30 for a 19.00 delivery. Software pushed it back to 19.20 (we ordered just after opening). Nothing arrived by 19.30 so we called to be told it was 'just being packed'. Food finally arrived at 20.38 (we were 7 miles away!!! That is almost walking speed). As the driver was apologetic we did the decent thing and told hime to keep the change on a 47 order (50 given). By the time we go to our lodge (we had to meet the driver in the lower area), unpack and check we realised that we were 11 short of main dish and sundries (almost 20%). We called the Take Away and they said they would try to contact the driver. I asked that we be kept informed. So you guessed it by 21.00 no phone call. So I tried to call. Engaged. I tried a further consecutive 22 times. Engaged for a full 15 mins. I gave up and we ate the three mains between four of us. At 21.25 we are clearing plates (not much food so 10 mins and it was gone) the manager Mohamed U phoned. He explained he was really sorry and that it was a very busy night and it was just one of those things. He said he'd be happy to send the 'money taken without goods'. I said that was kind and we were around all week as were were on holiday.Well you guessed it, no refund materialised only a smart reply on Trip Adviser now stating that one of their delivery drivers was involved in an accident!!! If so, I hope all parties were OK but reading other accounts and Mohamed U other replies for bad reviews on Trip Advisor (his delivery drivers seem to have accidents quite a lot), thus my experience says it could be a fabrication to save face on line. To summarise: Ordered at 5.30pmDelivered incorrect at 8.38pmPhone not answeringManager full of excuses and empty promises at 9.25pm. Over 3 hours to cook and deliver our order incorrectly50 given for 39 worth of foodJust my opinion. (I'm not sure that 'taking money without supplying goods knowingly' is actually theft so I'll let you make your own minds up as to the possible experience you may endure). Really Mr Mohamed U. You had one job, just one! and you couldn't get that right. So if you are a man of your word where please is my refund for goods ordered and not received that you promised?There are other great establishments in this area, some really lovely hard working honest people. Visiting the area I searched Google for Indian takeaways around Kingsbridge, confronted by mixed reviews of the Delhi Spice I decided to give it a go. The service was excellent, staff were very friendly, Mo the owner and head chef informed me he had been there for over seven years and he clearly cared about serving the local community. I ordered a chicken Madras and it was absolutely spot on, reminded me of being in South India. Only slight mumble was the size of the chicken pieces but I do understand nothing can ever be perfect, I will certainly order from here again when I am in the area.
Whilst on holiday staying in a cottage in ugborough we ordered take away around half past 9 through just eat app. It never showed up and we had a message just before they shut at 11 saying our order had been rejected as they are closed clearly an hour and half is not enough time to cook and deliver? Or maybe they just couldn't be bothered to find us rude either way
