Perfect hotel and spa experience! All of the staff were very helpful and professional.

Father in Law's 70th Birthday lunch. 41 of us nearly all Local and very disappointed. Slow service (not enough staff!). Main course was on tables and by the time vegetables turned up most had started eating because meat was cold. Then after another delay the potatoes turned up. Then after everyone had all but finished we were offered horseradish sauce. Puddings were finished before others had been started. Coffee was supposed to be in lounge but it was full, so it was agreed to have coffee in restaurant. Head table had neither cups or coffee after everyone else had theirs. The food was good although mostly cold This really isn't what you expect from a 4 star hotel. Thurlestone hotel hang your head in shame.

Lovely night away for my partner's Christmas present. We were upgraded free of charge to a sea view room upon arrival without having to ask! Lovely setting with a cracking view of the ocean. Brilliant dinner in the Trevilder restaurant, especially loved my lobster linguine. Really enjoyed chatting with the barman (think he was called Alex) for an after dinner cocktail, he even made me one not on the menu. Had a back neck and shoulder massage today, really appreciated full use of spa facilities even after we'd checked out. Staff all really lovely and helpful, we were upset to leave. We will certainly be back.

The rooms are fantastic space and view wise. The beds are very comfortable as well. The food is very fresh and locally sourced as well as delicious. There are loads of great things to do around Thurlestone such as crabbing (I'd suggest using smoked bacon as bait) and visiting Dartmoor. But if you'd like to stay in the hotel the spa is brilliant and the bar has a great vibe. There is also a brilliant pub attached to the side. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they are always there in a jiffy to help out straight away.Thurlestone has always been brilliant and I believe it always will. My mum has been coming here since she was a child and it was wonderful then.

Really friendly and helpful staff! Our room was a bit warm when we first arrived but the windows opened easily (they don't always in other hotels I've stayed in) and it soon cooled down. Comfortable bed and a good shower in the bathroom. Usual tea making stuff but with a generous selection. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Sensible portion sizes and a good wine list. Breakfast was very good, I had the smoked haddock but if I am permitted a slight niggle the poached egg was over done, as was my wife's and the toast needed a bit more toasting. We walked to Hope Cove in the afternoon which I recommend as a leg stretcher. There was a Christmas tree there made from crab pots (pictured).
